We often hear people say, do not look back once you have made a decision, do not look back, but I suggest we need to look back. We need to look back with the right perspective. If we do not look back, how will you know how much you have covered?
If you are climbing a ladder or if you are climbing a mountain, you have a laser focus towards your goal, towards your destination, but as you keep on focusing on the top and you're climbing, there are moments when you will feel tired. There are moments when you'll feel frustrated and those are the moments when it is good to pause, stop and look down. Look back. And when you look down and you look back, you will see how much you have covered, how much distance you have covered, how much you have achieved, and that is the time you will be motivated to surge forward and surge ahead.
So make it a practice of looking back with the right perspective, not just only at the end of the year, not just twice a year, not just every month but every week and if possible, every day. Take time to pause and look down and look back and surge ahead, and move ahead with energy, with motivation and with enthusiasm.
